PLEASE DOWNLOAD CURRENT VERSION OF THE AGENDAThe focus of this ARW is to review the current practices and options for improvement of risk assessment and risk management practices to address the complex challenges of protecting, preventing, and responding to threats that jeopardize environmental security and critical infrastructure at industrial ports. The ARW will provide risk managers with a "tool box" of approaches and methods that are useful to promote either the enhancement or development of programs addressing environmental protection, security, or critical infrastructure projects. The value of incorporating a systematic understanding of stakeholder perspectives in projects that have fundamental environmental security and sustainability issues will be addressed. Various risk and decision-analysis models will be reviewed through case studies to illustrate how retrospective and prospective evaluations of various security threats can be used to improve port operation practices and reduce the consequences of either natural or man-made disasters.
